Sharing Your Digital Product Catalog
Getting a digital catalog up and running takes a lot of collaboration and hard work. But that catalog is helping no one unless it’s easily accessible by your customers. At Dirxion, we offer dynamic sharing functionality on all of our digital product catalogs to allow you to create a catalog design that buyers will want to use. Your clients should be equipped with the information needed to access your digital catalogs in whatever way meets their needs.
Sharing a digital product catalog can be as easy as sending a link, but there are other easy-to-use features that you can utilize to create the exact customer experience you need.
Dynamic URLs
There’s nothing wrong with simply sending out a link to your entire digital catalog, but depending on the audience, that might not be the best solution. A client of yours might only need to see products from a certain category, or an internal stakeholder might want to gather product data about a couple of items. That is why our digital catalogs have dynamic URLs.
As you go through your digital catalog, the URL changes as you switch pages. If you copy and paste the URL at any point, you will get a unique link that anybody can use to access the page they need. Not only will the link reference the specific page, but it will also reference the book (if you have multiple books within your digital catalogs). This is done to make the pages and the catalog part of a more seamless online shopping experience.
If you have a large digital catalog, your intended recipient might waste time trying to click through pages trying to find what they need. Dirxion digital product catalogs also come with a very easy-to-use search function, but the best way to get a user exactly what they need is by providing a direct link.
Catalog Crop Function
While sharing links is helpful if somebody needs to see an entire page, you might only need to share a smaller portion of a product description. That’s where the crop function comes into play.
All it takes is hitting the crop icon while you’re in the digital catalog. From there, you determine what section of the page you need, select “Crop Image,” and then click “Download.” The cropped image from your digital catalog is now downloaded to your computer all by using built-in functionality. No outside software is needed to crop your pages.
If something needs to be sent to somebody quickly and you don’t see the need to send an entire catalog, the crop functionality might be exactly what you need.
PDF Export
PDFs can be a very useful format, especially if a user needs to access information offline or if they want to store a file in a computer folder. Dirxion makes PDF versions of product catalogs a reality.
When looking at your digital catalog, you first select the PDF icon. You will then have the option to download the entire catalog or a page range. On top of those options, you can also decide if you want to include the cover or not.
You hit submit, and your PDF is ready to be downloaded and shared.
MyCatalog is a one-of-a-kind tool only offered by Dirxion that lets the user customize exactly what they need to share, whether it’s with a prospective customer, or being sent to internal team members. The online product catalog tool lets you select any pages you want; they can all be from the same digital catalog or different catalogs. Once pages are selected, it makes a customized catalog that only includes the pages you selected. Think of it as a personal catalog creator.
If there is a page you know you want to include in MyCatalog, you simply hit the plus sign near the top of the page. Your selected pages will then go to your MyCatalog window on the right side of the browser.
Once everything has been selected, you can rearrange the pages if necessary. From there, all you do is select “Save As PDF” and you can download and share your custom catalog. If you’d rather, you can publish the catalog as a custom, digital version that includes a unique link.
What makes MyCatalog such a powerful product catalog software is the ability to make your own catalog out of one that is already built. Your digital catalog might be full of valuable information, but there will certainly be instances where you or your clients want to make a smaller catalog that only includes specific items.
Maybe you want a smaller catalog that only includes products from a sub-line. Or maybe during the sales process with a prospective customer, you want to create a catalog that only includes items from the same product category. However you need to group together digital catalog pages, you can do it with MyCatalog.
Imagine ripping pages out of a physical print catalog to send to sales prospects. While that might have been a tactic decades ago, it’s now a thing of the past with digital catalogs and our MyCatalog feature. That’s one feature you just can’t get with a print catalog. It’s never been this easy to create and share your catalogs.
Mobile Friendly Digital Catalogs
More and more business is done on mobile devices today. Developing important documents or digital product catalogs that are only viewable on computer devices isn’t sustainable.
We wanted to make sure that everything created by us is easily accessible and viewable on a mobile device. This is especially important for those people who travel regularly for work. It’s also become more common for people to have their work email on their mobile devices as well.
When you are sharing a link and it hits somebody’s inbox, chances are that the link will be opened on a phone. Our digital catalogs are HTML5, making them mobile-friendly so that your catalogs can be accessed anywhere.
